AGRICULTURE ENGINEERING AGRICULTURE ENGINEERING AGRICULTURE ENGINEERING

Agriculture Engineering relates to the science and technology of producing food grains. It applies principles of engineering science and technology for production and processing in the field of agriculture. Students basically study design of agriculture machinery and equipment, agriculture structures, agriculture resource management, surveying and land profiling. Subjects like climatology and atmospheric science, soil management and conservation including erosion and erosion control, seeding, tillage etc. are part of agriculture Engineering.

Scope of Agriculture Engineering

  • Jobs with tractor-manufactures, irrigation companies, fertilizer and seed companies, and dairy firms.
  • State agriculture departments recruit Agriculture Engineers at district and sub-district levels for processing, farm mechanization etc.
  • After qualifying NET one can pursue teaching at colleges and universities as a lecturer.

Our Vision

To be a centre of excellence that integrates all facets of Agricultural Engineering to be recognized as the focal point for catalyzing the growth of agricultural engineering incorporated with high values and ethics for the welfare of humanity and society.

Our Mission

  • To impart education to students and make them competent for contribution to agricultural Andrural development.
  • To promote sustainable agriculture activity infused with moral values and ethics that reducespoverty and promotes farming and employment.
  • To promote agricultural technology and discover new technologies in farming keeping in mind the bio- Diversity and ecology of the nation.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

  • PEO1: To provide graduates a robust background and necessary perspective to pursue higher education and make them able to work competitively in related fields over the spectrum of Irrigation Industries, Watershed Management Organizations, Tractor and Farm Implement Companies, Food Processing Industries, Seed and Fertilizer Companies, Energy and Renewable Energy field, NGOs and Government Organizations.
  • PEO2: To develop the analytical and logical aptitude among students, allowing them to quickly adapt to new work environments, assimilate new information, and solve new problems.
  • PEO3: To provide exposure of new cutting edge technologies to the students and motivate them to take up new challenges to solve the problems faced by society and nation through research, entrepreneurship and skill development.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

  • PSO1: Demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge of agricultural engineering, probability and statistics for rural development through construction of soil and water conservations structures, farm mechanization, post-harvest management and value addition of food materials and of horticultural produces etc.
  • PSO2: Showcase the ability to function, learn and work independently as well asidentify and solve various engineering problems related with Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Soil and Water Engineering, Irrigation and Water Engineering, Processing and Food Engineering, Post-Harvest Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, etc.
  • PSO3: To have an understanding of the impact of engineering on society and demonstrate awareness of Contemporary issues.
